Vanity Fair’s 2012 Best-Dressed list!

Vanity Fair

Earlier this month Vanity Fair issued its annual International Best-Dressed List with  the no one better– and more deserving – to have on the cover than the most popular fashionable woman, the Duchess of Cambridge, Kate Middleton. This issue names the best dressed celebrities from around world for both men and women.

Other than being married to Prince William, Kate is best known for her simple, classy and chic style. Even when she is fully covered she looks stunning. Whether she is wearing a beautiful evening dress, a casual blazer or a hat suitable only for royalty, she can never do wrong. But my personal favorite ensemble she has ever worn was a beautiful turquoise Jenny Packham gown that she wore back in May at the Olympic Athletes Gala Dinner. They say that a nice piece of arm candy is a girl’s best accessory. Not that Prince William isn’t  good looking, but Kate can look good all by herself. In the issue Kate is accompanied with other fabulously dressed women: Princess Mary of Denmark, Diane Kruger, Fan Bingbing, Alicia Keys, Lea Seydoux, Charlotte Casiraghi, Jessica Chastain, Elettra Wiedemann, and Sheikha Moza.

Celeb De’la Cream

Although the women named on the list do deserve to be on it, I feel that Vanity Fair forgot someone. In my opinion, Blake Lively has worn beautiful ensembles this past year. She has great casual boho style and looks absolutely amazing in evening wear. She also has a face that can easily draw your attention away from anything she is wearing. Probably the most incredible Blake has ever looked was when she wore this Zahair Murad – à la Rita Hayworthat her Savages Movie premiere. No words could describe how beautiful she looked with this retro inspired look. With the retro curls and red lips, she is flawless!

Red Lips

Lip Liner: MAC in Brick
Lipstick: Makeup Forever’s Rouge Intense Artist Collection in Moulin Rouge

Red lips are a makeup classic and one of my favorite looks! I used to be afraid to wear it because I thought it wasn’t for my skin tone, but anyone can wear red lipstick!

  • Light skin tones: Go for reds with hints of pink and coral to complement your complexion.
  • Medium skin tones: You’re free to explore! You’re neutral and can pretty much wear any shade you’re comfortable with.
  • Dark skin tones: Stay away from brighter red shades that will clash with your skin. Opt for a deeper shade like a brick red.

To make your lips appear fuller, apply a lip pencil. When you’re applying your lipstick, use a lip brush for a smooth finish.

Be bold and make a statement!
